I bot an mp4 from ebay, worked good for one day, gave it to my 11 yr old, and he messed with it for 1 day. He said he transferred files from another mp3 player, and deleted a bunch of things from it. Now computer (XP)won't recognize it. Does not make the recognizable usb sound when a good connection is made. When I switch to firmware upgrade, it seems to make the good sound, but still won't recognize it. Still plays music. Any ideas?? TIA

I hope I sent this the correct way. I usually don't ask questions in forums. I purchased two MP4 players here is the eBay address. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110101950316&rd=1&rd=1I got one for hubby and one for me. I am disabled and need this for my physical therapy; it makes time go by quick. Here are some of the questions I have sent them and their answers. I don't have any information about what kind it is or the inside information. The picture on eBay is exactly what the item looks like. Sunday, Mar 11, 2007 07:25:15 PDT Ok, I understand to drag and drop the music files even though I am unable to listen to the full 1 Gig. But I am NOT able to view videos, e-books, or other files. This item and the other one I got from you will only hold the 500 MG of music and nothing else. I would really like some help like step by step directions on how to use ALL programs on this. I believe that I have been very clear of the problems I am having and would really like some help. Dragging and dropping videos, pictures, e-books, lyrics and files are not up loading to either one of the MP4 players I have. Please see all of your responses to me, your last one was a duplicate of me first question. Thank you Amanda 03-11-2007 their response Hello, this player is a plug & play, you don't need to install any drivers for that, all you have to do is to connect the player to your computer by using the provided USB cable, once connected, you should find a new disk in your computer, then you can copy MP3 files to it. The CD is basically useless, it only contains the software for converting music and video files. Thanks!
03-11-2007 PM response Hi, first of all, please re-format the player from your computer.
This player is a plug & play, you don't need to install any drivers for that, all you have to do is to connect the player to your computer by using the provided USB cable, once connected, you should find a new disk in your computer, then you can copy MP3 files to it. The "Capacity" part is clearly stated in the item description, the 8GB is for acting as a 8GB USB flash drive for storing data files only, and the actual playable and recordable capacity is 1GB.
It can hold 8GB of songs as data, but among them, only the songs locate in the first giga byte of the memory section are playable, thanks. I still don't know how to enter e-books, video files, Word files, I love the music aspect, but it is only 80 songs. I know you can only listen to one song at a time but that real is not the point. Can you offer any help??? Thank you ever so much. Amanda
